Esther: A Journey of Faith Over Fear
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about Esther. Her story isn’t just about a queen who saved her people—it’s about a woman who stepped into a terrifying unknown, choosing faith over fear.
She didn’t seek out power. She didn’t push for influence. She simply walked through the doors that God opened, even when those doors led to moments of deep risk. I can’t help but wonder what it must have felt like, standing in that place of uncertainty, knowing that speaking up could cost her everything. And yet, she did.
I recently experienced a powerful reminder of her courage when I went to see Esther live at the Sight & Sound Theatre in Branson. The production moved me to tears, bringing home the reality that sometimes our most vulnerable moments are the ones where faith shines the brightest.
There’s a verse in Esther 4:14 that always gets me:
"And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?"
This verse has echoed in my heart ever since I first read it. It’s a reminder that every challenge we face, every decision that seems overwhelming, might just be the very moment God has prepared us for.
I don’t know what’s been on your heart lately—maybe a decision that feels overwhelming, a calling that feels too big, or a situation where speaking up feels like too much of a risk. But what I do know is this: God equips us for the places He calls us. Esther wasn’t fearless—she was faithful. And that’s what made all the difference.
On a personal note, I’ve been navigating some major changes in my own life:
Business Transitions: I’m clarifying some of the products in my business, which will disrupt a few clients.
Authorship: I have finished my first book (WOOT WOOT) and have now moved to the publishing stage. I’m asking for your support with pre-orders.
Podcasting: While I continue to release podcast episodes, I’m also working on monetizing the show, which means asking for support and investment from others.
Family Changes: We’re making a big change with our son for the next school year—a move that will undoubtedly stir up controversy.
Personal Relationships: I’m reassessing my personal relationships and have distanced myself from emotionally unsafe people, which is making certain functions and spaces difficult.
We are all called to our own “for such a time as this” moments. They may not look like standing before a king, but they might manifest in many ways:
Leading in spaces where women’s voices aren’t always heard.
Advocating for our families, our businesses, our communities.
Saying yes when we feel wildly unqualified.
So today, I just want to remind you: courage isn’t the absence of fear; it’s trusting God enough to act in spite of it. Like Esther, we don’t have to know how everything will unfold. We just have to take the next step.
Praying for you as you walk boldly in faith,
Xo,
Kerri
