Why Are You Here, Really?

Are you ready for this friend?

I was listening to a podcast last week and the host said something that stopped me in my tracks:

"God didn’t give you another day because you need another day on this earth.

God gave you another day because someone else needs you on this earth."

And while I did a quick google search on this quote and learned the podcaster wasn't the first one to coin that phrase, he's the first one who delivered that message to my ears. And that's all it takes.

Now, I'm passing it along to you.

Let that simmer in your soul for a moment.

What is it you're here to bring? And how do you find that out if you're questioning?

Finding your purpose or what you’re here to bring to the world can be a deeply personal and introspective journey. Here are some steps that might help you discover your purpose if you’re questioning:

                1.            Self-Reflection:

Spend time reflecting on your passions, interests, and the activities that bring you joy. Think about what makes you lose track of time or what you loved doing as a child. These can be clues to your true calling.

                2.            Identify Your Strengths:

Consider your skills and talents. What are you naturally good at? Your strengths can guide you toward roles or activities where you can excel and make a meaningful impact.

                3.            Explore New Things:

Be open to trying new experiences and stepping out of your comfort zone. Sometimes, exploring different activities, hobbies, or even volunteering can help you discover what resonates with you.

                4.            Seek Inspiration:

Read books, listen to podcasts, or watch documentaries about people who have found their purpose. Hearing others’ stories can provide valuable insights and inspiration for your own journey.

                5.            Connect with Others:

Engage in meaningful conversations with friends, family, or mentors. Sometimes, an outside perspective can shed light on your strengths and passions that you might not see yourself.

                6.            Practice Mindfulness:

Mindfulness practices, such as meditation or yoga, can help you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings. This self-awareness can lead to a deeper understanding of what truly matters to you.

                7.            Set Goals with Purpose:

When setting goals, consider how they align with your values and passions. Goals that are meaningful to you are more likely to lead you toward your purpose.

                8.            Be Patient and Persistent:
Discovering your purpose is not always a quick or linear process. Be patient with yourself and allow the journey to unfold naturally. Stay persistent and keep exploring until you find what feels right for you.

Remember, your purpose can evolve over time, and it’s okay if it changes. Keep an open mind and heart, and trust that you will find your path in due course.
